Mission Statement

Public School 119 is dedicated to the belief that all children can learn and can become responsible and productive citizens. The progress of English language learners and children with special needs requires the focus of our entire community. We believe the responsibility for providing the means through which each child can learn and grow is shared by teachers, administrators and parents.

Uniform Policy

P.S. 119 UNIFORM DRESS CODE

The P.S. 119 School Leadership Team and Parent Association continue to support a Uniform Dress Code. Dress codes encourage discipline, school pride and unity; and keep clothing costs and competitiveness to a minimum.

The uniform consists of:

  • Solid colored dress shirts, turtle necks, polo shirts and sweaters; (no graphics or advertising)
  • Solid colored slacks, corduroys, jumpers or skirts; (no jeans)
  • Light soled sneakers or shoes.

Clothing may be purchased wherever you choose.  It is not necessary to shop at a specialized uniform store.

On rainy days, ponchos with hoods are preferred over umbrellas. Ponchos keep children and backpacks dry.
